Koala photos
Koala is a cute Australian animal, which looks like a teddy bear. Many people even refer to the Koala as "Koala bear", which is incorrect since Koalas has nothing common to the bears.
Most photos of koalas are taken on Phillip Island Wildlife Park near Melbourne. |

Koala is sleeping... | eating... | ...what else can I do? |
| Koala is very lazy animal, it sleeps about 20 hours a day. Koala eats certain varieties of Eucalyptus tree leaves, which are toxic to the most animals.
The name Koala comes from Aboriginal "no drink". Amazingly, koalas obtain moisture from Eucalyptus leaves and thus does not have to drink. It will be too difficult, if not impossible for koala to find a water, since it is not a fast moving animal.

It's hard to believe 100 years ago koalas was at the edge of disappearing from our planet. People killed most of these lovely animals for the valuable fur.
Nowadays koalas are under special care and its population grows every year.
Koalas are not as common as kangaroos, and not very often seen in the wild. However there are some places where there are lots of koalas, example Otway National Park in Victoria or Kangaroo Island in South Australia.
Koalas are not found in Tasmania or Western Australia. |
